Abstract
This research examines the impact of U.S. energy policies on Iran's energy security in the sensitive Persian Gulf region. Given that the Persian Gulf is recognized as one of the world's most crucial energy sources, any shift in U.S. energy policy can significantly affect Iran's energy security. The main question of the study is: How do U.S. energy policies impact Iran's energy security in the Persian Gulf? The research hypothesis suggests that changes in U.S. energy policy, particularly in terms of economic sanctions and the development of alternative energy resources, threaten Iran's energy security in the Persian Gulf and weaken its position in global energy supply. The research method is descriptive-analytical and documentary, with data collected through library resources, academic articles, and official reports. Energy security models are used to analyze the effects of U.S. energy policies. The results indicate that U.S. policies, especially the development of domestic energy resources and international cooperation with Persian Gulf countries, could reduce Iran's bargaining power in the energy market, thereby introducing new threats to its energy security.
