Abstract

The Impact of the Modern Nation-State Structure on the Social Disruption of the West in the Face of Corona

The convergent or divergent relationship between government and people indicates the success or failure of the nation-state structure in any country. This kind of relationship in different political and social ups and downs of each land, such as wars, economic crises and security crises, and natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods and epidemics, draws people away from supporting it or not.

Using the analytical-historical method and based on the critical analysis framework under the Ideological approach, the article analyzes the function of the modern nation-state model in the face of the Corona crisis. It has been validated by valid international surveys. To achieve this goal, the historical course of the formation and development of the modern nation-state has been explained based on the trinity of material elements, Ideology and institutions, and the link between this trinity by a concept called "national identity" through the efforts of social science theorists at any time to legitimize It. The results indicate that the construction of this model is based on personal utilitarianism that has been injected into society by social elites over the past centuries, leading to 1. growing inequality and declining efficiency of governing institutions and intermediaries, 2. social distrust, 3. disconnection between society and sovereignty, and finally social collapse, are crystallized in the confrontation of the two pillars of the state and the nation with this crisis.
