Identity can be considered a set of individual and group characteristics and experiences that, on the one hand, cause a feeling of similarity among individuals and, on the other hand, distinguish them from others. Identity can include various dimensions, including social, cultural, ethnic, national, and international. By studying the gap between students' self-perception and the impact of identity dimensions in shaping their actions, this article explains the reasons for this issue and the consequences of this gap on the future of the relationship between students' identities and their socio-political actions. The research method in this article is qualitative and inductive analysis (reaching from observations to reasoning). Also, the data collection tools include: library and documentary study, structured interview based on the Cochran model in the form of a questionnaire from 150 students of the Faculty of Law and Political Science, University of Tehran. The results and analytical findings of the research show that national, ethnic, and religious identities can clearly affect students' social and political relations. These impacts may be seen as opportunities for cooperation and social solidarity, but they can also pose challenges to peaceful interaction and coexistence. Creating spaces for dialogue and exchange of ideas on campus can help reduce differences and foster solidarity among students of different identities.
