The Axis of Resistance, as one of the fixed and strategic principles of the Islamic Republic of Iran, plays a significant role in the country's defense policies. Therefore, the present study seeks to examine the function of the Axis of Resistance in the defense policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran from the perspective of Ayatollah Khamenei's statements. The main question of this research is: From the perspective of the Supreme Leader, what function does the Axis of Resistance serve in the defense strategy of the Islamic Republic of Iran? The hypothesis of this study, conducted using thematic analysis, posits that the Axis of Resistance has led to asymmetric deterrence, strategic depth, and the enhancement of soft power in Iran's defense policy. The findings indicate that the Axis of Resistance has increased the cost of hostile actions by adversaries through unconventional defense methods and shifted the balance of power in the region. Additionally, this strategy has created defensive strategic depth by expanding Iran's influence among allied nations while strengthening Iran's soft power through the promotion of resistance discourse. Ultimately, this study concludes that the Axis of Resistance, as a comprehensive strategy, has guaranteed Iran's national security amid complex regional conditions and provided an effective model for confronting the global hegemonic system.
