Overseas media movements attributed to the Baloch ethnicity are active in opposition to the governments of Iran and Pakistan, claiming to support human rights and defend ethnic demands. These movements, by utilizing identity-based and critical discourses, pursue goals such as gaining benefits, seeking power, and collaborating with opposition actors. The main question of the research is: “What is the trend and impact of the media discourse of the overseas Baloch media movement, and what has been its impact on the discourse of ethnic demands?” Within this framework, the ways of representing political dissatisfaction, feeling of discrimination, and the dual formulation of “us/others” in the content of two media outlets, “Baloch Activists Campaign” and “Halwash,” are examined. This research is applied in terms of its purpose and descriptive-analytical in nature. The research data includes hundreds of news, reports, and content published between Farvardin 1400 and Esfand 1403, which were collected based on library studies and analysis of the sources of these two media outlets. Data analysis at the textual, discursive, and social levels was conducted using critical discourse analysis (CDA), social identity model (SIT), and qualitative content analysis methods, through coding in MAXQDA software.
