The concept of “new colonialism” as the most advanced form of domination in the contemporary international system provides a theoretical framework for analyzing the indirect, soft, and networked mechanisms of hegemonic powers. Antonio Gramsci’s theory of hegemony also provides a conceptual framework for explaining new patterns of global domination, emphasizing the role of civil society, the production of consent, and agents such as organic intellectuals. Ayatollah Khamenei’s discourse also provides a strategic and multi-layered analysis of new mechanisms of domination with conceptualizations such as “system of domination,” “arrogance,” “soft war,” “cultural invasion,” and “new colonialism.” The focal point of this discourse is the distinction between the “dependent intellectual” as an organic agent of global hegemony and the “committed intellectual” as an agent shaping the discourse of resistance and new Islamic civilization. The present study, using the analytical-descriptive method and by matching Gramsci's concepts with the conceptual structure of the leadership discourse, shows that the colonialism of the Farano in Ayatollah Khamenei's analysis has a significant conceptual correspondence with the Gramsci model of hegemony; with the difference that he elevates the analysis from the class level to the civilizational level and introduces the committed intellectual not simply as a counter-hegemonic activist, but as a builder of a new historical bloc based on a monotheistic worldview. On the other hand, the dependent intellectual in this discourse, based on characteristics such as translation-centricity, epistemic fascination with the West, and facilitating the flow of influence and cultural transformation, has a function similar to the organic intellectual of liberal hegemony.
