Given the continuing challenge in the relationship between Iran and the super powers in the international system, especially the United States, there are numerous and extensive researches to explain the situation in Iran and the international system. This massive volume of analyzes necessitates a meta-study and integration to reach their common core, and this study seeks to combine previous findings with a new and comprehensive perspective toward this challenge. The main question in this research is how the phenomenon of the challenging situation of the international system with Iran is represented in the research findings of Iranian researchers? To answer this question, this article examines the existing literature with a layered approach to the phenomenon of the mentioned challenge and using the method of content analysis, and all the existing works in the thematic field of research, including books, articles and doctoral dissertations, were examined. The findings of this study indicate that the fundamental components of the challenge situation are the three areas of discourses, actions and challenge management; The discourses, and in particular the confrontation of two American hegemonic discourses with the anti-domination resistance discourse by the Islamic Revolution discourse, are among the most important factors in this challenge, and based on these findings, There is a tendency to reduce threats and increase opportunities, but the future of Iran's international challenge will more or less continue due to its capacity for discourse confrontation.
