Social cinema in Iran, following the Islamic Revolution, has emerged as an effective tool for reflecting the social and political realities of the society. This research examines the impact of social films on social and cultural protests in Iran after the Revolution. The main research question is how the themes and narratives present in social cinema contribute to the analysis and critique of social and political conditions, and what relationship exists between these films and the emergence of social protests. To conduct this research, content analysis was employed as a qualitative approach. Fourteen selected films, including notable works such as "A Separation," "I’m Not Angry," and "Tehran Has No More Pomegranates," were analyzed, focusing on themes such as social inequality, identity crisis, corruption, and political pressures. The findings indicate that Iranian social cinema effectively represents social and cultural issues while critiquing social systems, thereby raising awareness and sensitivity towards inequalities, which in turn stimulates social and cultural protests. These films not only portray societal problems but also serve as a critical lens on the realities of society, fostering social and cultural dialogues and contributing to societal transformations in Iran. Consequently, social cinema has become a means of reflecting the hopes and frustrations of the people, playing a crucial role in shaping the social and political identity of the community.
