بررسی سیر تکاملی ساخت سنجه‌های «تنظیم حکومتی دین» در تحقیقات بین‌المللی علوم اجتماعی

Although more than seventy years have passed since the existence of international research in social sciences; But due to the lack of high-quality and reliable data for most countries of the world, "religion" had received little attention in this type of research until the last two or three decades. Especially, when we wanted to address the issue of the relationship between religion and the state or the "government regulation of religion" in international research, this problem became twofold. In order to solve the problem of lack of international data, several efforts have been made by religious scholars of social sciences by making international measures of "government regulation of religion". These efforts to compile a set of reliable international dataset regarding "government regulation of religion" started from the implementation of a scale containing thirteen indicators for 18 European countries and ended up with a comprehensive dataset that was obtained from a measure consisting of 117 indicators for 183 countries of the world in The Religion and State project. In this article, by comparing different datasets, we will show that the dataset obtained from The Religion and State project has many methodological advantages over other datasets regarding the government regulation of religion.
