This research examines the Palestinian resistance through the lens of resource mobilization theory and the concept of everyday resistance, with the aim of developing a deeper understanding of the dynamics of this long-term movement in the face of severe constraints (Problem). The study employs document analysis methodology and review of secondary sources (Method). The research findings show that Palestinian resistance, despite material limitations, has been able to utilize non-material resources such as cultural identity, social solidarity, and human capital to sustain its struggle. The concept of "sumud" (steadfastness) plays a central role in this resistance and manifests in various forms including resistance agriculture, preservation of culture and language, and resistance art and literature. Creative use of new communication technologies for mobilizing international support and transnational networking is among other important strategies of this movement. Additionally, everyday resistance in the form of seemingly simple but meaningful actions plays an important role in sustaining this struggle (Findings).
The main research question is how the Palestinian resistance movement has managed to survive despite severe limitations, and what mechanisms have enabled this movement to persist under adverse conditions? Furthermore, this research seeks to understand how this movement utilizes limited resources and everyday resistance capabilities, and how the concept of sumud has contributed to the sustainability of this long-term resistance.
